for

Surgical Magnification

The following summary recommendations are to help guide you in selecting or assessing a surgical telescope system.

  1. Make your equipment work for you, and not vice versa.
  2. Choose surgical telescope systems based primarily on your musculoskeletal anatomy and your physiological requirements.
  3. Take an active role in product selection and fitting (measurements). Know clearly what you need.
  4. After delivery, insist that your surgical telescope system function properly. Evaluate and compare widely during the product's guarantee/warranty period.
  5. Schedule regular ophthalmological examinations by personnel qualified and informed about the special requirements of microsurgeons.
  6. Arrange for periodic review, cleaning, and adjustment of optical (magnification) system(s) used in your practice.
  7. If it doesn't work for you.... get rid of it.
