BSc (Nutritional Science) and MSc (Dental Science) from the University of British Columbia; DipDH from Vancouver Community College; EdD (Educational Leadership in Post-Secondary Contexts) from Simon Fraser University (SFU Faculty of Education Dean's Medal recipient) 
 
Teaching 
Dr. Kanji teaches in all four years of the Dental Hygiene Degree Program in content areas related to professionalism, competencies, evidence-based practice, problem-based learning, academic writing, and research methods. He teaches local anesthesia to DMD and DHDP students. He has been the recipient of many UBC Dentistry teaching awards as well as the W.W. Wood National Dental Teaching Award (2013), the CDHA Excellence in Teaching Award (2014), and the Association of Canadian Faculties of Dentistry (ACFD) National Dental Teaching Award (2020).

Dr. Kanji serves on a number of UBC committees related to curriculum and teaching effectiveness, budget and planning, admissions, and student affairs.

IFDH Educators' Forum Organizing Committee.
