The overall goal of Dr. Laronde’s research is to facilitate discoveries that will have a positive impact on the mortality and morbidity due to head and neck cancer. Her research program addresses oral cancer screening and early detection in both general and high risk populations, use of new technology, developing and validating models to predict oral cancer progression, and translation of knowledge into clinical practice and community awareness. She has conducted research in South Asia and in Canada. She is an Associate Investigator at the BC Cancer Research Institute and the Director of the BC Oral Cancer Prevention Program. Dr. Laronde's teaches in both undergraduate programs (DHYG and DMD) and supervises graduate students (MSc and PhD).
