Outside the socket, the tooth was continuously held in moisture with sterile saline to protect the cells on the root surface. The root tips were cut with a high-speed diamond and the root ends were inspected with an operating microscope. A mesiopalatal canal was detected in the mesiobuccal root. Retrograde cavities were prepared with a slow speed round bur and retrograde fillings were made with IRM.
