Between pulpitis and AP

Irreversible pulpitis caused by bacteria eventually leads to pulp necrosis which in turn is usually followed by apical aperiodontitis. When the pulp has lost its vitality, but no periapical lesion can be detected yet, the correct diagnosis is pulpal necrosis. An important etiopathological difference to ischemic necrosis is that the possibility of the root canal being infected by bacteria is very high.
