A fifty-five-year-old woman was referred to endodontic specialist for treatment of tooth 34. A sinus tract was detected on the buccal mucosa between teeth 33 and 34 in clinical investigation. Tooth 33 reacted positively in sensitivity while 34 was negative. Tooth 34 had been previously root filled and retreated with no desired long term result. An 8 mm pocket was measured buccally to tooth 33, but no sensitivity to percussion was detected in any of the teeth.
