Long term prognosis of the tooth is uncertain because the frafcture occurred in an infected root canal. However, long calcium hydroxide therapy and the absence of any symptoms are indications of good possibilties for healing. In the case of later problems, apicoectomy of the mesial root to remove the fractured instrument and to place retrograde fillings may be required.
