The patient was a 58-year-old woman who had pain in tooth 41. The tooth was slightly symptomatic to percussion. Periodontal probing depth was within normal limits. The tooth reacted normally to EPT. In the radiograph tooth 41 showed normal periapical conditions. The diagnosis was symptomatic pulpitis and the treatment plan was pulpectomy.
