Cervical resorption - Treatment plan

Initially, pulp is not involved in cervical resorption (see etiology). Usually the treatment of cervical resorption includes surgical cleaning of the resorption cavity and filling with a permanent filling material.

If, however, pulp/root canal is involved, or will be perforated during surgery, treatment of cervical resorption is started by endodontic treatment of the root canal, applying the principles of pulpitis or apical periodontitis, depending on the status of the pulp.
