Follow-up radiographs

Under normal circumstances, review (control) radiographs are taken at one-year intervals until complete healing has occurred. In the treatment of trauma and some other complications, the frequency of review radiographs may be much higher (see modules 8 and 11). Review radiographs are taken with a film holder, e.g. Eggens or Endoray. The paralleling technique usually gives better results than the bisecting angle technique and allows better comparisons of radiographs taken at different times. Sometimes, in multirooted teeth, more than one radiograph may need to be taken, but usually not.
