Hypercementosis

Hypercementosis produces no clinical signs that would indicate of its presence. In teeth with a vital pulp, hypercementosis causes no change in the reaction to electric pulp testing. In the radiograph, a thickening of the root is detected either apically or laterally to the root. It is impossible to see the difference between root dentin and the cementum in the radiograph. An important differentialdiagnostic feature of hypercementosis is that the PDL can be followed around the lesion. No treatment is required for hypercementosis.
