Single cone

In single cone technic, the root canal is filled with one master gutta-percha point and sealer. No accessory points or condensing are used in single cone technic. The thickness of the sealer layer is thus much thicker than in the other cold gutta-percha techniques, particularly in the middle and coronal parts of the filled root canal. The single cone technic relies in the good adaptation of the sealer. However, the technique has been criticised because the solubility of sealers are considered a weak point of many root fillings.
