System B

System B is a warm gutta-percha technic specifically designed to fill the apical part of the root canal with warm vertical condensation. The rest of the canal is then back filled with another technic. Condenser tips of four different sizes are heated by thin copper wires that are isolated by enamel inside the metal tips for optimal control of the heating and cooling. Temperature and the speed of heating can be adjusted in the front panel of the System B. A master gutta-percha point is inserted into the canal with sealer and condensed with a tip at ca. 200 C apically. Condensing is started with heated tip, but then the heat is cut off and the rest of the condensation is performed with a cooler instrument to compensate shrinkage. Gutta-percha coronal to the condenser tip end is removed from the canal and back filled with another technic.
